Belt & Main

Richardson, Texas | Complete

The City of Richardson is undergoing the revitalization of its historic downtown through the infill of new urban buildings, walkable streetscapes, dynamic open spaces that include a range of family-friendly activities, and the repositioning of key structures such as the Chase office tower. Belt & Main has been the first major phase of this effort with a master plan that provides mixed-use and residential buildings along all streets, with an emphasis on generating activity along the streetscape through building entrances and retail storefronts. The initial phase includes four and five-story buildings along the Main Street with diversity of building form, unique urban eclectic architecture, and artistic signage. Two and three story townhomes are planned on the northern blocks in future phasing. The initial phase includes upper level residential units above restaurant and retail uses along Main Street and ground level units having gated front terraces with direct connections to the surrounding street sidewalks. The residents enjoy an impressively large one-of-a-kind pool courtyard with private cabanas, sunning terraces and grilling pavilions, a high-design resident club and large fitness facility, community catering kitchen and television lounge, business center, meeting rooms, and carpeted corridors. Each residential unit has 10'+ ceilings and 8' doors throughout, designer finishes, large windows and exterior balconies, built-in shelving, walk-in closets, and unique lighting. -- Awards and Distinctions: This development is the result of a public/private partnership with the City of Richardson and received the City's Edge Award for Revitalization Excellence.
